About
The platform Casting Screens serves as a digital exhibition space of artistic screencasts – the form of video documentation for our digital lives. This platform investigates multiple questions:
How do artists process and explore digital culture through screen recordings? What is the role and relevance of screencasts as an artistic medium for the depiction of digital culture? In which ways is this relatively young medium being used artistically?
The platform merges the digital exhibition of artworks and theoretical reflections, which examine the topic of Screencasting from various points of view. In these, the different possibilities of interaction between man and machine, the obvious and the speculative in digital works shall become visible.

Beatricealive is a continuous online performance that takes place on several social media channels. The performance deals with the topic of self-discovery and identity. It tells the story of a woman without language, who has been finding her way continuously through the digital space for 1 1/2 years, as a method to get to know herself and to find out who she wants to be. Dating is part of everyone's life, so Beatrice is also giving it a try … you are able to look over her shoulder concerning her attempts in the video work "Beatrice alive?".
Francis Kussatz lives and works in Berlin/Hamburg. She is studying time based media at HFBK - Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg where she is attending the Class of Simon Denny.
In her works she addresses being a person in a female body and questions existing gender constructs. With this background she is exploring what it means to be female or rather what it seems to be. Using the creation of different personas with the combination of new media forms and her environment she is drawing on deep rooted prejudices to put them in a new context. Her works were exhibited for example at curated by GIRLS, the Anomalie Art Gallery or at the 2OG Art Space in Berlin.
